“If a bowl is made correctly out of the right timber, it will far surpass its maker's lifetime.”
– Mike Mahoney

Mike and Paul do the hard work for you. Now all you need to do is finish the bowl and sign your name.

Our wood is urban forest wood; trees removed by municipalities from parks and easements (and sometimes developments) that would usually become firewood or pulp. We have recycled these trees into beautiful bowl blanks so that you can make utility bowls and platters for everyday use.

We choose hardwoods that will stand the test of time. Many hardwoods are unforgiving if dropped or exposed to shock. The soft hardwoods (boxelder, silvermaple, ash, elm) we use provide vertical grain and are more suited for utility bowls. These woods tend to withstand everyday use better than hard hardwoods (cocobolo, locust, purpleheart).

Signing your name on the bottom of the bowl you turn will guarantee your legacy of fine woodwork that will be cherished by friends and family long after you are gone.
